Yet again we and a couple of clubs have been linked with Bordeaux former french u21 striker, I have now lost count on how many times we were linked this summer but it looks like they want him to move on, rather than risking him leaving on a free when his contract runs out next summer.

Aston Villa push for Gouffran
04:00 PM 19 September, 2012

Aston Villa will push for Yoan Gouffran when the window reopens.

The Midlands giants only just avoided relegation from the Premier League last season, and have started the current campaign in sluggish form.

New manager Paul Lambert did register a first win on Saturday when Swansea City were defeated 2-0, but he remains eager to add to his attacking options.

Gouffran is in the final year of his contract at Bordeaux, and Villa are hoping to persuade the French club to sell the 26-year-old for just £3million in the New Year.

Now whether you rate him or not (I certainly do) 3 million is a complete steal for any player at that level, just look at Ron Vlaar or El madi, similar prices and
looking good for the money. The only issue would be that he doesn't quite fit the Lambert criteria in he's older than 25 and could demand high wages, hopefully thats not going to be an issue and we will see him in the shirt come january.
