Emile Heskey set for surprise move to Australia's Newcastle Jets
Emile Heskey has agreed a one-year deal to join Australian side Newcastle Jets, according to reports.
The 34-year-old is a free agent after leaving Aston Villa at the end of last season and looks set to join former Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero in the A-League.
The two men could face each other in the second match of the new season when the Jets travel to Del Piero's new club Sydney FC.
‘I feel as fit and hungry as I have done in a long time and have been training everyday throughout the summer,’ the former Leicester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Wigan striker said recently.
‘As has been reported, I did receive a number of offers during the transfer window but didn't feel like any of them were the right opportunity for me at that time.’
Heskey has played 62 times for England - including three World Cups - and has scored 153 goals in 597 starts during his club career.
Wouldnt it have been even better if it was actually Newcastle utd that signed him :D
